Ranchi: Virat Kohli’s poor form with the bat in the series against Australia continued and the visitors made sure to remind him about it.
Aussie skipper and Glenn Maxwell dangled skipper Kohli with some cheeky actions and words on him after he got caught to slips in the hands of Smith on the ball of Pat Cummins.
Prior to Kohli’s dismissal, Maxwell tried to pat on his shoulders while aiming towards Kohli.
This was in reference to Kohli staying off the field since the first day after hurting his right shoulder while fielding in the 40th over. He then underwent MRI scans which gave the go ahead to bat.
Kohli and Smith are not exactly on perfect terms after the DRS controversy marring the latter stages of the second Test which India won.
Kohli had stopped short of calling Smith a ‘cheat’ and the controversy was cleared away from the pitch with both cricket boards deciding not to press the matter any further.
