Mumbai: A 32-year-old air hostess on Tuesday filed a complaint with the Khar police against a Human Resource (HR) manager of a renowned company for allegedly demanding sexual favours in return for a job. The victim in her complaint alleged that the manager asked her to ‘compromise’ if she wanted the job as a cabin crew in the private chartered plane of the company.

The victim, a Khar resident and former air hostess with the Kingfisher Airlines was approached by her female friend, who told her about a job opening with a renowned company in Mumbai. The victim then sent her resume to the HR manager after which she received an interview call.

“Later, I was told by my female friend that the HR wants personal benefits and wants me to compromise in return for the job. I decided to take a stand against this and registered a formal police complaint in the matter,” said the victim.

“I have evidence in the form of chats. Copy of the said chats have been given to the police,” she said.

“We have registered a case under Indian Penal Code sections 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 34 (common intent) against the HR manager and victim’s friend who suggested her the job. They will be questioned and action will be taken against them if found guilty,” said Senior Police Inspector, Ramchandra Jadhav of Khar police station said.
