Chandigarh, June 16:
Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission today took suo-moto notice of the protest held after the death of a Dalit youth from village Meonwal in Phillore due to being run over by an overloaded tipper and has sought a report from SSP Jalandhar Rural on June 17, 2026.
Giving information in this regard, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi said that instruction have been given to submit this report through the Deputy superintendent of Police. He said that he will also meet the victim’s family at village Meonwal on June 19, 2026.
