Ranchi: Peter Handscomb’s 124 runs alliance with Marsh of 62 overs that included a wicketless second session to force a draw for Australia that seemed very unlikely at the start of the final day in Ranchi.

Cheteshwar Pujara adjudged Man of the Match for his double knock in first innings while Ravindra Jadeja named Bankable Player of the Match.

Peter Handscomb and Shaun Marsh starred with the bat for the Aussies while Ravindra Jadeja finished with 4 for 44 in second Innings.

Australia have managed to bat out the whole day and no it wasn’t Steven Smith who led from the front.

It is the first time that a visiting team has batted out for a draw after being behind in the first innings in India since 2010-11.

Ishant Sharma and Jadeja dealt Australia late blows in the morning session to increase their stranglehold on the match. In an eventful over, Ishant removed Matt Renshaw while Jadeja responded next over with the big wicket of captain Steve Smith, leaving Australia with a daunting task of saving the Test.

Final Scores tally:

Australia made 451- all out in first inning

Following to huge score set by Aussie, India replied back with a massive run chase and gave Aussies the trial of 152 runs by scoring 603/9 in the first inning.

In the last session of Day-4, Aussie lost 2 wickets in just couple of overs of Jadeja while following the trail 152 runs.
