Chandigarh: Panjab Finance Minister Manpreet Badal has assured all help to the fund-starved Panjab University in its campaign to raise money towards meeting the financial short fall faced by the institution.
Badal held a meeting with Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Arun Grover to discuss the finances of the University on Monday evening. He was accompanied by Punjab Technical Education minister Charanjit Channi.
After the meeting Badal said that the University management would first be holding a meeting with Union government to seek financial aid to tide over the present crisis. The Punjab government will pitch in with the rest of the money in case the Central aid is not enough to meet the requirements.
Badal said that the state government will do everything possible to maintain the sanctity of the university.
