Ludhiana: Two minor girls found tied near PAU in Sidhwa Canal, Ludhiana.
Police has arrested Lakshmi (Mother of decease) on Wednesday night whereas father (Udi Chand) has still escaped from his place.
Police accused charges of attempt to murder against the parents of two sisters. Minor girls Preety aged 16, and Jyoti aged 17, of Barewal Road were taken out of Sidhwan Canal, on the complaint of younger sister, while elder had died.
Earlier, Preety had told the police that they were orphans and begged at Durga Mata Mandir, near Jagraon flyover.
She also told that on Monday late evening an unidentified person gave them a snack. After eating it, they both got unconscious and the next morning, she was inside the canal when she gained consciousness.
After being asked more by the police, Preety further changed her statement on Tuesday night. In her complaint, She said that the are student of class 10th, their parents often used to beat them up and have an auspicious on their character.
On Monday her father gave a snack to eat, which make them semi conscious. Afterwards, their father tied them with a stall and threw them in a canal.
People near the canal call the ambulance and admitted them to Civil hospital, where Jyoti was declared dead. And on the statement of Preety, complaint has been filed against father Udi Chand, an auto driver, and mother Lakshmi under sections 302 , 307, 325 and 34 of the IPC.
