Chandigarh, February 13, 2026:

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against the corruption in the state, has apprehended Jaspal Singh and Rishav Garg, both Senior Industrial Promotional Officer posted at District Industries Centre office, Ludhiana and Antarpreet Singh Trade Assistant posted at  District Industries Centre office, Ludhiana,  red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 30000/-.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state VB said the above-mentioned accused have been arrested based on a complaint lodged by a resident of  Focal Point, Ludhiana.

He said that the complainant runs a production unit at focal point, Ludhiana. In this regard, complainant applied for exact date of production certificate thereby above mentioned accused demanded bribe of Rs 45000/- from the complainant. Complainant had recorded the conversation of demanding illegal gratification.

After a preliminary enquiry of his complaint, the VB team  laid a trap during which all three accused were arrested red handed while accepting  bribe money of Rs 30000/-  from the complainant in presence of two official witnesses.

In this regard, a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against these accused at VB police station Ludhiana and further investigation into this case is under progress.
