Amritsar: The trading between India and Pakistan from this border post has stopped from last two days because of the truck union strike here.

Attari truck union staged the strike with the issue of overloading.

On the other side, traders announced to stop the trading till the matter gets sort out.

Sajan Bedi alleged that traders in connivance with a transporter were trying to sabotage the trade through the Attari-Wagah route. If the situation persisted, he said, it would be detrimental to 18,000 people living at the border and earning their livelihood through the transport business at the Integrated Check Post (ICP).

It said transporters, truck drivers, assistants and other businessmen connected with the Attari trade would continue the agitation. Members of their families would also protest, Bedi said.

Traders said that they are facing huge loss in crores, so they demanded centre govt. to sort out the matter as soon as possible.
