Chandigarh: As New Year is about to make it’s mark, Chandigarh police is not taking any chance to make the city accident free. Chandigarh police has laid some rules to have a check on drunk and drive. According to the rule if you will be found drunk and driving the vehicle, the suspect have to spend his new year night in jail. And if needed according to 185 vehicles act a case can be filled against the suspect.
Police has decided to take such a step after witnessing various accidents in the past. They have decided to have check points to the areas where such happenings can take place.Duty police has launched some guidelines that will be implemented in the pubs, Resorts, Bars, Hotels . These guidelines includes that every entertaining place should have camera’s in their parking lots and have lady bouncers on duty. According to the reports, around 2,000 police personnel’s will be deputed in the city.There will be around 106 check points and out of these 20 check points will be on drunk and drive.
