Three new sugar mills to open in Haryana

Chander Parkash Kathuria, Chairman of Sugarfed, stated that Chief Minister has given his approval for running the Karnal,Panipat and Shahabad Sugar Mills.A sum of Rs 200 crore would be spent on the Karnal Sugar Mill project and after renovation, the crushing capacity of the mill would increase from 2,200 ton crushed per day (TCD) to 3,500 TCD.
He reiterated that the Chief Minister had also given his approval for running the Panipat Cooperative Sugar Mill on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.The new mill would produce refined sugar and have a cogeneration and ethanol plants and a distillery.
An ethanol plant with a cost of Rs 82 crore would also be set up in Shahabad Cooperative Sugar Mill, he added.
